Edith R. Malcotti, 89, a resident of the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg, formerly of Coupon-Gallitzin Road, Ashville, died Thursday at the Village.
She was born in Coupon, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Nicastro) Serventi.
Surviving are three children: Karen Koeck and Lori Rouzer (Don), both of Manassas, Va., and Joe (Mary Archey) of Coupon; seven grandchildren: Julie Feltman (Chris), Jenny Sweeney (Brian), Ashley Koeck, Cara Albarano (Sam), Joanna Michaelangelo (Matt), Sarah Rouzer and Stephen Rouzer; two great-granddaughters: Lily and Jenna Feltman; two sisters: Violet Chirdon of Dover, Del., and Joan Roesch (Al) of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nando "Rudy," on Dec. 1, 2002; a grandson, Craig Koeck; and a sister, Helen Stasik.
Edith was a 1941 graduate of Altoona High School. She was the oldest surviving member of the former St. Joseph Catholic Church, Coupon, and was a life member of its Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at Gibbons Funeral Home, Ashville, where a vigil service will be held Sunday afternoon. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, at St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin, the Rev. Albert Ledoux as celebrant. Committal will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Coupon.
