Barenaked Ladies to play Carnegie
MUNHALL - Canadian pop stars Barenaked Ladies will perform with special guest Whitehorse at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 21 at Carnegie Library Music Hall of Homestead.
Barenaked Ladies is touring in support of their latest album, "Grinning Streak," which was released in June. With the departure of two original members, Barenaked Ladies now performs as a quartet. The band's biggest hits came in the 1990s, with songs like "If I Had $1,000,000," "Pinch Me" and "Brian Wilson."
Reserved seats are $39.50 and $49.50. There are a very limited amount of Gold Circle tickets at $65. Tickets will increase by $2.50 on the day of the show. Tickets can be purchased at the box office, at LibraryMusicHall.com and by calling 412-368-5225.
SAMA exhibit opening
JOHNSTOWN - The Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art at Johnstown will open its latest exhibition, "Allied Artists of Johnstown 81st Annual Juried Art Exhibition" on Sept. 6. The exhibit will remain on view through Dec. 14.
The Allied Artists exhibition annually presents artwork created by many of the area's most talented artists. This year's installment features more than 60 works in a variety of media, including photography, oil, acrylic, colored pencil, jewelry, pottery and mixed media.
SAMA-Johnstown will celebrate the exhibition's opening with a reception at 6 p.m. Sept. 6. The event is open to the public free of charge.
