Playhouse opens show
JENNERSTOWN - Most of us are familiar with the all-too-common occurrence of grown children moving back in with their parents. But what happens when parents move in with their adult married children?
"Squabbles," a new comedy playing at the Mountain Playhouse through Aug. 4, addresses that exact situation. The show will be performed at 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, at 2 p.m. Wednesday and Friday and at 3 p.m. Sunday.
"Squabbles" was written by Marshall Karp and is directed by Chan Harris. All actors performing are professionals who auditioned for the show in either New York or Pittsburgh.
The cast includes Pittsburgh native Joe Joyce, who has performed on Broadway and Off-Broadway and on such television shows as "30 Rock" and "Ellen," and Mountain Playhouse veteran Celeste Mancinelli
Tickets for the show are $17 to $30 for matinees and $22 to $34 for evening performances.
Night Ranger to perform
STATE COLLEGE - Night Ranger will perform at 8 p.m. Aug. 20 at The State Theatre.
Still touring with founding members Jack Blades, Kelly Keagy and Brad Gillis, Night Ranger had five straight Top 20 Billboard singles in the mid-1980s, including their 1984 smash "Sister Christian."
Tickets are $46 for Gold Circle seats and $36 for orchestra and balcony seats. Tickets are available online at statetheatre.org, by calling 272-0606 or at the theater box office.
