Altoona police continue to look into the shooting death of Washington D.C., native.
"We are following up on leads with the information we've received," Det. Sgt. Matthew DePaolis said Tuesday, declining to elaborate on details of the investigation or search warrant.
Steven Hackney, 37, was shot to death early Saturday at 124 Walnut Ave., but police remain tight-lipped about the circumstances surrounding his homicide, including how many shots were fired and by what kind of gun. Blair County Coroner Patricia Ross said this weekend that Hackney suffered multiple wounds and died from a gunshot to the chest.
Hackney, a native of Washington, D.C., had lived in Altoona for several years and in 2006 was charged with attempted homicide in connection with an October 2005 shooting incident at Fifth Street and Fourth Avenue.
