I read with interest the recent letter from tea party leaders in Blair County, noting that Congressman Bill Shuster has not responded to their request to meet with him.
For the record, I wish to say that Tea Party Patriots of Huntingdon County asked Shuster to meet with our board and guests, and he did so.
In fact, at the meeting, we asked him question after question concerning policies and procedures in government that concerned us, and we were quite pleased with his forthrightness.
On a personal level, being told by the National Archives and Records Administration that records were burned and non-recoverable as pertains to WWII and that my father's medals could not be replaced, I contacted Congressman Shuster for help.
Not only did he respond, but caused the medals to be replaced in a timely fashion.
