Dorothy I. Musselman, 83, Altoona, passed away Thursday at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Angelo and Teresa (Lapore) Giansante. She was married to the late Richard J. Musselman, and he died April 28, 2009.
Surviving are two children: Sheila Irwin and husband, Dennis, and Shawn, both of Altoona; four grandchildren: Shane, Nicholas, Megan and Kelley; and seven great-grandchildren: Kierra, Ashlynn, Alannah, Morgan, Sara, Nicholas and Kayden.
She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Tyler.
Dorothy was a 1949 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School. She had worked in the accounting department of Gable's Department Store and also had been a teacher's aide for the Altoona Area School District. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Dorothy enjoyed gardening, walking and volunteering as a teacher's aide at the various Catholic elementary schools at Sacred Heart, the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament and St. Therese of the Child Jesus. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Committal will be at Calvary Mausoleum.
