Anna M. Eaken, 96, a guest at Epworth Manor, Tyrone, formerly of Grazierville, died Tuesday morning at the manor.
She was born in Grazierville, daughter of John W. and Annie C. (McGill) Wilson. She was married by the Rev. J.P. McCurdy to George A. Eaken on July 9, 1947, at Grazierville United Methodist Church, and George preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons: Terry L. (Carol) and George A. Jr. (Judy), both of Grazierville; six grandchildren: Wayne Weir, Larry Weir, Troy Eaken, Amy Eaken Heidenthal, Tighe Eaken and Kirsten Eaken Steele; 10 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Trudie Brower; two sisters: Martha Stouffer and Mary Wilson; and five brothers: Frank, William, John, Robert and James Wilson. She was the last of her immediate family.
Anna was a member of Grazierville United Methodist Church, where she was a pianist for many years and an active member of the choir. She was also a member of the "Grazierville Gang." She retired from Nearhood Lime and Stone and had been an Avon representative for 45 years.
Anna enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013, and 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Friday, March 22, 2013, at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone, Pastor Peggy Bonsell officiating. Private interment will be made in Grazierville Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
