Athlete of the week achievement: Kirsch won the District 6 Class AAA qualifier at Sinking Valley on Tuesday with a 69. He also shot a 73 at Iron Masters on Thursday to claim medalist honors in a quadrangle match with Altoona, State College and Central Mountain.
Season update: Kirsch opened the season with a 70 at Park Hills, but his low-round of the year was in last week's qualifier. His scoring average is 75.5.
Coach Bryan James' quote: "Jordan has been heavily involved the past two seasons, and it was pretty exceptional to get out there and shoot 3-under [in the qualifier]. The conditions were pretty bad, and he showed a lot of poise. He's been working really hard this year."
