Hollidaysburg program deserves curtain call

I attended the Hollidaysburg Community Chorus Concert on Sunday, April 24 at Hollidaysburg Area High School, “Here, There and Everywhere.”

It was a riveting program and so full of great music/tunes.

This concert has been two years in the making due to COVID-19.

It included The Chorus, Becky’s School of Dance and Ian Brumbaugh, who has been in productions on our grand stage of The Mishler Theatre.

What a thrill and honor to see Brumbaugh’s performance.

His interpretation of “Desperado” by The Eagles was a show stopper.

Then a special rendition of “Bring Him Home” from Les Miserables, Claude-Michel Schonbert sent me to a higher stratosphere.

Brumbaugh has a deep booming, clear voice that connects to your soul.

Watch for his performances at The Mishler and you will not be disappointed.

The favorite song for the evening “Your Cheatin’ Heart” words and music by Hank Williams, arranged by Kirby Shaw.

The closing number, “Creation Is Singing,” music by Mark Hayes incorporating “Hymn to Joy” by Ludwig Van Beethoven words by Pamela Martin, sent you home singing all of the show tunes.

It was a delightful performance once again by the Hollidaysburg Community Chorus.

Bravo to all members and director.
