Mask up or pandemic will keep getting worse

Recently, it was reported that COVID-19 cases were on the rise in our local school districts.

Then, it was reported that Blair and surrounding counties were in the high transmission stage of COVID-19. Now, in the paper we read that the UPMC emergency room is under stress caring for unvaccinated COVID-19 patients.

When the school districts decided to ignore the mask mandate issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, what did they think would happen?

This will, of course, only get worse.

With professional and college football now in full swing, we see fans shoulder to shoulder, screaming their lungs out, with few, if any, masks among them. What is wrong with these people?

As we well know, even if you are fully vaccinated, you are still vulnerable.

What is it about this deadly virus that causes people to not take it seriously?

With that said, they absolutely do not have the right to spread more of this deadly virus. We are in the midst of a public health crisis. By wearing a mask, we are protecting not only ourselves, but others. The unmasked and unvaccinated are not protecting anyone, least of all themselves.

Parents claim child abuse when school districts say their kids have to wear a mask. But the truth is that letting your kids go unmasked is putting them at risk for contracting COVID-19.

We have seen the proof that it does affect young children and these children carry this home to parents and grandparents. Does this not constitute child abuse? Who is going to protect the children from their parents? Wake up.

Once your child or some other loved one is dead from COVID-19, it will be too late.

Donald Trump has said many times that he loves the uneducated. Please don’t let yourself be painted with that brush just to prove a point.

Trump is vaccinated, the governors of Texas and Florida are vaccinated.

Let that sink in.
