Despite VAERS, vaccines still needed

A recent letter regarding the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), claimed that some 3,000 deaths were caused by COVID-19 vaccines.

However, the guide to interpreting VAERS data cautions: “When evaluating data from VAERS, it is important to note that for any reported event, no cause-and-effect relationship has been established. The report of an adverse event to VAERS is not documentation that a vaccine caused the event.”

Anyone can send a report to VAERS. By accepting the report, VAERS makes no claim that the reported event was caused by the vaccine.

VAERS reports should not be used to justify not getting the COVID-19 vaccination.
