Rabbi’s view conflicts with Orthodox Jews
In response to Rabbi Audrey Korotkin’s commentary submitted by Planned Parenthood in the April 8 Mirror, I will not offer my opinion, only the opinion of Orthodox Jews.
Conservative radio host Michael Medved, a Biblical, Orthodox Jew, states the law is clear. Orthodox Judaism “sanctions abortion only when the life of the mother is directly threatened.”
Orthodox Jewish law emphatically rejects the idea of abortion. Women are never allowed to dispose of the fetus for trivial reasons, because they can’t afford a baby, or because there is a chance that it may be deformed.
Although there may be irreconcilable differences between Orthodox Jews and liberal Jews, there is no court of appeal other than God.
