Gov’t has succeeded in terrifying country

A wreath should be placed at the Statue of Liberty.

In the United States of America, liberty has died. Are we really the “land of the free?”

Oh, we do have some liberty, but for the most part, liberty is dead. How can we say we have freedom when the government tells us how much money we can make, how much of that money we owe to the government, what to do, where to go, what we can do when we get there, where we can eat, when we can and can’t go out, and, when we can go to work?

Government has succeeded in terrifying us.

Virtually gone is the constitutional First Amendment right to free speech. The left’s attempt to silence speech on the opposing side must mean that the opposing side has speech that is powerful and persuasive.

The best way to deal with it, according to the left, is to silence that speech, or cancel all opposition. What are they afraid of?

Socialism has certainly arrived, but socialism has been here for many years. It’s just that current events have accelerated the direction toward socialism.

Under socialism and fascism, private property is allowed. However, the government controls what we do with that property. Government must approve of everything we do. Many want to receive “what they are entitled to,” but who will pay for it?

Local restaurants were recently closed, except for carry out and delivery. Some decided to remain open for dining room customers. They were reported to officials, who immediately came and closed them down.

What is this, the time of Hitler and the gestapo? Why were people encouraged to report “violators?” These restaurants were not violating a law, but only a recommended guideline.

How can the government exercise control over private property?

It reminds me of what Yoda said in Star Wars II; “The shroud of the dark side has fallen.”

Perhaps we should now refer to the country as “The United Socialist States of America.”

We need to focus on truths that never change; the Bible, God, Jesus Christ and eternal life.
