Government urged to revamp expenses
The government does not design, produce or manufacture anything to make money. They spend money that they take from the citizens. The county commissioners want to tax us again for the lack of money coming from Harrisburg. The county must run like a business. If the money is not coming in, one has to lay off employees or raise the price and hope the customers keep coming back. In this case, the courts will always be used, so raise the price of court costs, and have the costs and fines employees collect the money.
I don’t have a problem with improvements, and I learned an important word in the military, KISS (keep it simple, stupid). If you are going to make improvements to the courthouse, make it so that the county maintenance workers can maintain it without having to outsource it at a cost to the taxpayers at $16,000 a year.
I served in the Green Berets, did five and a half years in Vietnam for my government, paid my own college education and worked until I was eligible to retire. It took me 55 years to find my little piece of paradise and I would like to live here until the end, but it seems you are hell bent on taxing me out of here. It’s time for all governments to kick in a little and cut us some slack.
