Decker, Altoona facing challenges
Ken Decker has made a great deal of progress with Altoona’s 2021 budget. One of his biggest hurdles is coming up in 2021.
The union contracts negotiations begin, given Altoona has maybe the best police and firefighters and public works in the state. These city departments need to be team players. The revenue has dropped because our tax base has dropped.
I pray that police and firefighters are community minded and consider taxpayers’ ability to keep those services.
