Shutdown leaving some mixed messages

It is an indisputable fact that the number one contributor to the spread of the COVID-19 virus around the world is mass transit, specifically airline travel.

Just as with schools, mass transit is also a major contributor to the spread of any illness.

You can go to a state park to enjoy the outdoors, but you can’t use the cabins or restrooms. You can’t go to a department store. Both of these examples and others would have extremely minimal impact on spreading the virus.

Yet mass transit runs unabated and has actually been a contributor to the virus spreading across this country. You can take the subway to stand in line to get your take-out dinner, but your children can’t use the restroom after a hike in the woods.

By Gov. Tom Wolf declaring that students will not have to make up the lost time in school, he is essentially denying the children of two or more weeks of their precious education.

By people hoarding supplies they don’t actually need and may never use, they are denying others who may need simple supplies such as baby wipes or medication to care for their children.

This is a sad reflection of American society. Can someone please tell me how you fight the flu with toilet paper? Do you ball it up, fold it, make spit balls or simply throw the whole roll at it?

May everyone stay healthy or fully recover.
