In honor of your grandmother, vote
To all of you saying, “If my candidate does not get the nomination, I’m just not going to vote,” let me tell you about an amazing lady that lived to be 102 years old and never missed voting in every election — my grandmother, Alma Leamer.
She was born in 1909, when women did not have the right to vote. At 11 years old in 1920, she saw the 19th Amendment ratified, granting women the right to vote.
Once of age, she never missed a chance to vote and voted in every election. When you get mad and say, “I’m not going to vote,” think of her and every woman denied the privilege you’ve likely had all your life.
Vote in my grandmother’s honor and every woman who once had no voice.
