Hollidaysburg stages grand homecoming

I just got home from U.S. Navy Band Commodore 2019 National Tour’s sellout audience at the Hollidaysburg Area High School.

Wow, did the city/community of Hollidaysburg give Master Chief Musician Matthew Neff a grand welcome home again and for the final time with the Commodores.

It was great to see his parents and family there to support him.

What an awesome jazz ensemble. It was one beautiful selection after another. Covering marches, big band music, a jazz vocalist and a fantastic pianist — Musician First Class Daniel LaMaestra from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Our Navy bands travel the world to support our country, veterans and communities in jazz education, classes and performances for military and civilian government officials.

Thank for including Hollidaysburg in this tour of the 50th anniversary of jazz.

The encore “America the Beautiful” with jazz vocalist: Musician First Class Kristine Hsia sealed the concert with a well-deserved applause.

It was a great evening of entertainment and pride. A lot of ex-military personnel attended.

Thank you to our United States Navy Band, Washington, D.C.
