Election turnout is always critical
The 2019 primary election was exciting for those who live in the borough of Tyrone.
We had a total of eight candidates for borough council with only four seats up for grabs.
We also had several school board positions that opened, candidates for county commissioner were debating away, and the Pennsylvania Superior Court held what could be a race that will impact a generation.
Since being elected to Tyrone Borough Council (2017), I’ve noticed a significant decrease in participation when it comes to voting and sharing political opinions via the ballot box.
Presidential elections are vastly important, but when it comes to how our community is governed, how our children are educated, how our daily lives are impacted, no presidential candidate, no matter how much you may love them, will help you the way your local official can.
Remember to vote this Tuesday.
