Burke was unpatriotic at Memorial Day parade

As an Army veteran, on Memorial Day, my wife and I went up to the former Gables building on 12th Avenue to watch the parade.

As we were watching the different units in the parade come past, I saw something that really disturbed me.

There were three people walking past. One was Laura Burke, who is running for Blair County commissioner. Two other people walking with her, and one was carrying one of Burke’s campaign signs.

This was very disrespectful to all veterans. This parade was no place for politics.

I feel Burke owes all veterans and Commander Lloyd Peck of the Blair County War Veterans Council and USMC veteran, who organized this parade, an apology.
