McGinnis in dark about recycling
State Rep. John McGinnis is terribly ill-informed about our need to recycle.
It is not a hippie plot, or a partisan issue. This planet does not belong to us, or the United States. There is only so much lithium, oil and bauxite in the earth.
We need to recycle everything we can to protect all resources for future generations.
In many impoverished places around the world there is no trash collection or recycling. People wallow in a sea of trash, and think nothing of adding to their mess.
Here in the U.S. there are “mount trashmores” by the score. One day these will be mined, I am certain.
During World War II, everyone recycled, after the war ended, recycling all but ended, too. Sad.
During the Reagan use-it-all-up years the country floundered in waste, and corruption, and the oceans filled up with oil based plastics.
Under Bush 2, we were in the dark ages of energy, using all the oil we could. Remember $4 gas?
Finally, with Obama, the light shined on renewables and reuseables. This must never end.
