Ott worthy to be sheriff
Having served as district attorney for almost 20 years, I am aware of the responsibilities the Sheriff of Blair County has.
The duties of the sheriff entail more than simply serving papers, and requires an individual who is able to supervise. Chief Jim Ott has supervised a department since 1999.
I am fully cognizant of the fact that Ott is a person who possesses the qualifications and experience required of the sheriff.
Ott serves very capably as a police officer, but uses his experiences to promote activities and is active in community policing. The sheriff of Blair County should possess these qualities and be a leader within the community.
Ott will be very capable and serve competently as sheriff. I am pleased to endorse him without reservation, and ask the citizens of Blair County to join me in supporting Chief Ott and voting for him on May 16.
