Star illuminates Brush Mountain

I want to give a holiday shoutout to the family living on Kettle Road toward Sinking Valley, that has illuminated Brush Mountain with a big beautiful bright star for as long as I can remember.

A few years ago, all of my children were home for Christmas (they are in their 30s) and I heard them talking, and laughing, about their childhood ornaments and trinkets I still display around the house.

One of them looked out the french doors and said, “Look, the star is still there!”

They admitted always looking for the star as children and made plenty of Christmas wishes upon it.

I’m sure there are hundreds of adults and children in the East End of Altoona who feel the same way.

Thanks for sharing the spirit of Christmas with us for so many years, and God bless you all.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
