Area now the ‘capital’ of child sexual abuse

President Barack Obama said we ignorantly cling to our guns and Bibles in Pennsylvania.

Recent Pennsylvanians are more sophisticated. The world now knows us for Penn State, Jerry Sandusky, Joe Paterno and the sexual abuse of boys.

History will also remember Altoona-Johnstown for sexual abuse crimes a hundred times worse.

Penn State had one Sandusky. The Roman Catholic diocese had between 50 to 100 sexual predator priests. Sandusky was jailed and JoePa was dishonored.

Central Pennsylvania – right here – never brought 50 to 100 sexual-predator priests to justice and allowed bishops to retire in luxury.

This is our proud history that needs to be preserved as a horrible warning for future generations.

My goal is a first-class museum and several monuments to the victims of sexual abuse by the Catholic church. Central PA seems to be a kind of capital of sexual abuse when one considers the number of people and the number of cases recently uncovered.

The museum and monuments will graphically detail the history of sexual abuse and the coverup by the priests and bishops of the diocese of Altoona-Johnstown.

One theme: It looks like they got away with the crime of the century. The end of the story has not been written.

Maybe it can be written that the hillbillies of central Pennsylvania did not rest until justice was done for their children.
