Low gas prices have a downside

I think that gas dropping below $2 per gallon is not a good thing for the following reasons:

First, people are going to want to go out and buy cars because they are thinking, “The price of gas is so low and now I don’t have to worry about that expense anymore,” which is then going to increase the carbon dioxide being put into our air, which will speed up the process of global warming.

Second, we are losing regional jobs as the price of oil decreases. States like Texas and Alaska, big oil producers, are starting to lose job opportunities.

It may seem like it’s a good thing that gas prices are so low, but that’s just because it is not affecting us at this moment. Start thinking about the big picture and what could happen to our world.
