Melissa J. ‘Missy’ Henderson

Surviving are two children: daughter, Chelsea L. Henderson (Parish Foreman); and son, Corey M. Henderson (Tamara), both of Altoona; six grandchildren: Aubryn, Mila, Maci, (twins) Phoenix and Pheona and Crew; a sister, Molly J. Spinazzola (Mark) of Altoona; nephew, Jarrod Spinazzola (Billie) of Hershey; niece, Jenna Preston (Adam Moist) of Altoona; niece, Jaci Dubyak (Nick) of Patton; and numerous extended family members.

Missy was preceded in death by a son, Cody T. Henderson, who died in 2018; two brothers, infant Mark Crust and Matthew Crust; and her husband, Jeffrey Henderson.

Ms. Henderson was a member of Juniata United Methodist Church, Altoona.

She was a 1977 graduate of Altoona Area High School and a 2010 graduate of the Licensed Practical Nurse program at the Greater Altoona Career and Technology Center.

Missy retired as an LPN following several years’ employment in the local community.

She enjoyed camping, trips to the beach, particularly Ocean Isle, N.C., and watching her children and grandchildren participate in sporting events. She especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and her sister.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 3 p.m.
