Mary E. Phillips

She married Blair J. Phillips on Sept. 9, 1950, in East Freedom. He preceded her in death Oct. 12, 1984.

She is survived by two daughters, Doris E. Phillips of East Freedom and Deb K. Lear and husband, Alvin “Leroy” of Bakers Summit; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Patsy Delozier and husband, John, of Hollidaysburg; and many nieces, nephews and family friends.

She was also preceded in death by three sons: Leroy, Garry L. (Gomer) and an infant son, Barry; a grandson; a great-grandson; five sisters: Betty Dodson, Rosella Brown, Sarah Claar, Shirley Imler and Helen Zeth; and two brothers, Miles and Jimmy Feathers.

Mary was a member of Smith Corner Independent Mennonite Church.

She enjoyed playing scrabble and card games, jigsaw puzzles and going to the Ladies Aid activities at the church, and she especially loved spending time with her family.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, 2024, at Smith Corner Independent Mennonite Church, 1955 Johnstown Road, East Freedom; and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2024, at the church, with Pastor Dave McClanahan officiating. Interment will be made at Claysburg Union Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Smith Corner Independent Mennonite Church, 1955 Johnstown Rd., East Freedom, PA 16637.
