William T. ‘Wing’ Weakland
July 10, 1955 – Nov. 20, 2024
William T. “Wing” Weakland, 69, of Hastings, passed away Wednesday. He was a son of the late Guy and Virginia (Holtz) Weakland.
Surviving are a daughter, Briana Sowers (Ian); granddaughter, Ivory Sowers; brothers, Donald Weakland (Denise) and Jerome Weakland; sisters, Kathy Angert and Lori Stewart (Art); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was a retired postal employee of the Altoona Post Office. He also worked as a bricklayer with his dad.
Bill found enjoyment in golfing, especially at the Cambrian Golf Course. He was a member of the Local VFW, Fireman’s Club and Moose in Hastings.
He was an avid sports fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Pirates. He loved Christmas and celebrated by watching Hallmark movies and playing classic Christmas songs on his turntable.
The light of his life was his daughter, Briana, and his granddaughter, Ivory. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2024, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 148 Beaver St., Hastings, with Father Thaddeus Rettger O.S.B., officiating.
