William Scott ‘Scottie’ Dively

William Scott “Scottie” Dively, 55, of Blue Knob, passed away at home Saturday. He was born in Roaring Spring, a son of Gabriel S. Dively Jr. and Nancy (Walters) Dively.

He was a 1987 graduate of Claysburg-Kimmel High School and employed at Leonard S. Fiore as an equipment operator.

Scottie is survived by his daughters: Stephanie (Paul) Buehler in Louisiana, Shelby (Anthony) Miller and Samantha (Cole) Thomas in Arkansas; and grandchildren: Nevaeh, Grayson, Bellomy and Tatum. Also surviving are two sisters, Michelle Dively of Portage and Nicole Dively of Blue Knob; as well as a brother, Stephen (Christine) Dively of Altoona.

One of Scottie’s favorite activities was to spend time with his family and friends, including his nieces and nephews: Shannon, Garrett, Preston, AJ, Alyssa, Cody and Alexis; as well as a number of great-nieces and nephews and other extended family members.

He enjoyed a simple life of spending time at home, as well as outdoor recreations such as hunting and riding on the mountain in his side-by-side.

Scottie was a Freemason and member of Hollidaysburg Masonic Lodge 220 and the Jaffa Shrine.

Scottie was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Gabriel S. Dively Sr.; paternal grandmother, Bernice Dively; as well as maternal grandfather, Calvin L. Walters; and maternal grandmother, (Margaret) Irene Walters.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2024, at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg, where a Masonic service will be held at 6 p.m.

Friends will also be received from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the funeral home, with Pastor Mark Diandreth officiating.

Interment at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Blue Knob.
