Charles H. McKnight, 73, of Antis Township, died unexpectedly Wednesday at his home. He was born in Altoona, a son of the late Howard C. and Mary A. (Hagan) McKnight.
On Sept. 3, 1977, he married Ada L. Smith at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellwood.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Jessica L. (Daniel Moyer) Mash of Altoona; two granddaughters, Mikaela and Bailey; and a great-grandson, Wes.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael, in 2023; and a brother, Richard L.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era and retired as a welder at Conrail.
Charlie loved to cook and also enjoyed woodworking, collecting trains and rebuilding and working on his cars. He loved and lived for his precious dogs, Gizzy and Mickey.
Charlie loved life, especially the time spent with his family.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home Inc., Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Pastor Tim McGarvey officiating. Interment will be at Antis Cemetery, Antis Township.
