Ruth J. Tiernan

Surviving are a sister-in-law, Anna Tiernan of Hollidaysburg; two nieces, Maureen Keefer, and her husband, Jeff, in Virginia, and Karen O’Donnell and her husband, Mark, in Maryland; and a great-niece, Anna Keefer.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Margaret Kramar; a brother, Deacon John Tiernan; and a brother-in-law, John Kramar.

Ruth graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1945 and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1948. She worked as an RN and retired as a nursing home inspector for the state of Pennsylvania.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, where she was a member of Legion of Mary.

Ruth was a very creative person, who enjoyed art and poetry. She especially enjoyed drawing portraits of her family. Ruth was also a huge Notre Dame football fan.

The family would like to thank the staff at Garvey Manor and Our Lady of the Alleghenies for their exceptional care.
