Asleep in Christ and awaiting the first resurrection, Pete J. Ritchey, 68, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Wednesday at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh. He was born in Altoona, the second of four children, son of the late John P. and Sylvia M. (Wolfe) Ritchey.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Alice (Cottle) Ritchey, formerly of Everett; four children: Adam P. Ritchey of Duncansville, Joshua J. Ritchey (Kelly) of Hollidaysburg, Joy E. Leitzel (Charles) of Gordon and Zachariah J. Ritchey of Dayton, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; stepchildren, Dennis Hauze (Bridgett), Michele Sones (Chris) and Jerry Conrad; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Ray Cottle, Carl Cottle (Caroline), Paul Cottle Jr. (Arlene), Marl Clark, Ruby Cottle, Beverly Sipes (Richard), Mava Cottle, Jack Cottle (Dorothy), Henry Cottle (Kathy), Donald Cottle (Vickie) and Sally Mowry (Ray).

He was preceded in death by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: James Cottle, William Cottle, Shirley Clark, Carla Cottle and Martha Cottle.

Pete was a 1972 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He retired from International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 5 in 2017.

He was a member of Hollidaysburg Lodge #220 F&AM. Pete enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and serving God.

Friends will be received from 2 until the 4 p.m. memorial service Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022, at the Hollidaysburg Masonic Hall, 1008 Edgar St., Hollidaysburg. Pastor Suzanne Detterline will officiate.
