George ‘Dan’ D. Shultz Jr.

George “Dan” D. Shultz Jr., 73, of Hollidaysburg, passed away on Friday. He was born in Bedford, the son of the late George D. and Lida A. (Robison) Shultz Sr. On Oct. 8, 1986, in Altoona, he married Barbara L. Bartley, who preceded him on July 11, 2017.

He is survived by five children: Danny Ray (Sue) of Tyrone, Ryan Scott (Annette) of Houtzdale, Charles Lee (Alyshia) of Grazierville, Brenda Lee Graves Miller and Amy (Jeff) McGeary, both of Altoona; six grandchildren: Devon Graves, Mercedes Shultz, Ethan McGeary, Isabel Garcia, Chase Riley and Carson Shultz; one sister, Marlene Stimer of Tyrone; and three nieces: Mary Myers, Lori Williams and Lee Stephens. He was preceded by a brother, Charles Lee; and a sister, Bernice Ann.

Dan was a 1967 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. He was a member of East Freedom Chapel. He was a born again Christian who loved the Lord. He retired as a truck driver in 1984. He worked for Peerless in Curwensville, as well as Car Circus in Altoona. He was also a former volunteer firefighter and paramedic with the Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Fire Company.

His hobbies included racing, rebuilding cars and trucks and planting flowers and rose bushes. He was always working and enjoyed taking care of anything that needed done for anyone. He loved his family and considered all of his friends to be family as well.

An 11 a.m. funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022, at the Feller Memorial Home, Tyrone, with Pastor David Harper officiating. Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2022, at the funeral home, as well as on Wednesday from 10 until the 11 a.m. service.
