Joseph J. Plewa, 85, of Cresson, passed away Tuesday at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona. He was born in Dysart, son of the late Andrew and Alda (McMullen) Plewa.
He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph “Joey” Plewa; and siblings: Patty Clawson, Jeanne Slebodnick and Robert Plewa.
Surviving are his loving wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Plewa; children: David Plewa, Debra (Stanley) Noga, Michael Plewa, Susan Pawvluk and Robert (Carolyn) Plewa; grandchildren: Nicholas Pawvluk, Ciara Shoff, Matthew, Shelby, and Nancy Plewa, Jared and Jason Noga; his brother, John (Barbara) Plewa; a special cousin, Victoria (Barry) Burkett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joe enjoyed fishing, hunting, hanging out with his family and camping down at Newton Hamilton.
At Joe’s request, a private viewing and service will be held for his family, with the Rev. Leo Arnone, celebrant. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Cresson.
