Sharon Lynn Black

Oct. 26, 1949 – Oct. 15, 2021

Sharon Lynn Black, 71, went home to be with the Lord Friday.

She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Wilbur G. and Erdeine (Weaver) Boyer. She married John W. Black Jr., who preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 2014.

Surviving are a daughter, Deborah Wood, and husband, Jim; three grandchildren: Gunnar James, Briar Rose and Ember Annalynne Wood; her twin sister, Sandy Walter, and husband, Rob, and their family: Christa Walter and Taiylor Diven, Shannon, Todd, Cassidy, Sidney and David Barrick; and a brother, Steve Boyer, and wife, Betty Lou, and their family: Stacy Boyer, JR Boyer, Casey and Cody.

She was a 1968 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and was employed at Butterick until its closing in 2002. She was a member of Foot of Ten Independent Baptist Church.

Sharon’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021, at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021, at the Foot of Ten Independent Baptist Church, Pastor David Huston officiating. Interment will be at St. Mark’s Cemetery, King.
