Cindy Lou Lloyd

June 2, 1957 – Oct. 4, 2021

Cindy Lou Brubaker Lloyd, 64, Silver, S.C., beloved wife of 45 years to Michael Kevin Lloyd, died on Monday at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, Sumter, S.C.

She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, daughter of the late Lewis Grant Brubaker and Martha Mae McCaulley Shearer.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Jason Lloyd of Silver, S.C.; two sisters, Tammie Welch of Tyrone and Angela Peters of Saxton; brother-in-law, Donald Lloyd and Melody of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; cousins, Ruth Hunt of Altoona and Richard Ferrier of Youngstown, Ohio; nieces and nephews: Johnny Benton and Collin Musser of Tyrone, Austin Peters and Natasha Peters of Saxton, Victoria Peters and Dustin Peters of Altoona; her mother-in-law, Donna Lloyd of Altoona; and many other relatives.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Brain G. Dean; father-in-law, John Lloyd; and loving stepmother, Marion Brubaker.

She was a member of the Tyrone High School class of 1976. She spent most of her adult life as a military spouse and retired from AVX Corporation in Myrtle Beach. Cindy enjoyed her Shelties, Harley and Star, NASCAR, various Harley Davidson rallies and events and cruising the beach or country roads in her ‘Orange Madness’ Polaris Slingshot.

Services will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Semper Fi and America’s Fund, dedicated to providing urgently needed resources and support for combat wounded, critically ill and catastrophically injured members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families.
