Banks Joseph Wallace Sr.

Sept. 11, 1955 – Aug. 9, 2021

Banks Joseph Wallace Sr., 65, of Duncansville, passed away Monday due to COVID-19 complications at UPMC Altoona, even though he received both of his vaccinations. He was born in Altoona, son of Mary L. (Wessner) and the late Banks W. Wallace. He married Therese Harker on Nov. 8, 1975.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years; his mother; a daughter, Lisa Dively (Joseph); a son, Banks Jr. (Angela); four grandchildren: Kyle and Hope Dively, and Kaylee and Laura Wallace.

Banks graduated from Bishop Guilfoyle High School and Altoona Vocational Technical School in 1973 as an electrician. He retired from Blair Electric in 2017 after 43 years of service as a foreman/electrical estimator.

Banks was a lifetime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Newry. He served on the Parish and Financial councils, and was an usher. He ran the hayride for many years at the parish festival. Banks volunteered with the Boy Scouts and with the Hollidaysburg Farm Show.

He was a lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Association and the Bedford County Motorcycle Club/Beaverdale Hill Climbs.

Banks was an avid collector of HO model trains and loved to travel to many train shows. He was so immensely proud of his grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time with them and going to all of their activities.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 2021, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 13, 2021, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Newry. Father Allen P. Zeth, Celebrant.
