Thomas Emory Bowers Jr.

Feb. 1, 1956 – May 2, 2021

Thomas Emory Bowers Jr., 65, of Henrietta, died peacefully at home Sunday night surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Thomas Bowers Sr.; and his mother, Beverly (Emery) Stock, and stepfather, Phillip of Henrietta.

He married Vickie M. Dick on April 7, 1979, in Roaring Spring.

Thomas is survived by his wife; three children: Heather Wenerick (Greg Potter) of Williamsburg, Brandy Moyer (Cory) of Roaring Spring and Adam Bowers (Christa Steep) of Henrietta; 10 grandchildren: Emily (Zack), Jaaden (Matt), Camdyn, Brylee, Nathan, Ryan, James, Makenzie, Colleen and Ricky; two great-grandchildren: Braxton and Huxley; four siblings: Andrea Horton (Mike) of Martinsburg, Todd Stock (Deanna) of Henrietta, Tim Bowers (Sue) of Ohio and Lon Bowers (Laura) of West Virginia; many nieces and nephews; his father-in-law, Levi Dick of Williamsburg; and his stepmother-in-law, Mary Esther Dick of Williamsburg.

He was preceded in death by an infant son; an infant granddaughter, Halyn; six other infant grandchildren; and his mother-in-law, Shirley Dick.

Thomas attended Faith Assembly, Roaring Spring.

He was a 1974 graduate of Central High School, and upon graduation entered the United States Army, where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He served active duty from 1974-78; National Guard from 1978-82; and then, active duty from 1982-92, where he served in the Gulf War.

Thomas enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting guns and knives, and especially loved taking his grandchildren out and teaching them how to hunt and fish. Thomas was a member of the Henrietta Sportsmens Club and a life member of the Duncansville V.F.W. and the NRA.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2021, in the Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.

Tuesday, May, 11, 2021, at Target One Ministries, Martinsburg, by Pastor Phil Waite and lay minister, Ralph Spencer.
