Richard D. Ingram

Richard D. Ingram, 89, of State College, died Saturday at Harmony at Penn State. He was born in Bellwood, the son of the late Harry and Helen Everhart Ingram. On May 10, 1952, he married Donna J. Moran, who preceded him in death on Dec. 7, 2008.
He is survived by his son, Gregory Allan Ingram of Altoona; a brother, Thomas Ingram of Dallastown; a grandson, Nathan Ingram of Altoona; three granddaughters: Jennifer Capozzi in Massachusetts, Katie Holland in Kansas and Amanda Ingram of Altoona; and four great-grandchildren: Annabelle, Jovie,
Graham and Oliver. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Jo Ingram in 1977; and brothers, Timothy Ingram in 2013, Charles Ingram in 2015 and William Ingram in 2016.
Richard graduated from Altoona High School and enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1949. He served aboard the USS Bryce Canyon AD36. He was honorably discharged in 1953.
After his discharge from the Navy, he attended Penn State University, receiving his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering in 1957. In 1960, he received his MSEE. He was employed by the Applied Research Lab at Penn State from 1958 until his retirement in 1995, after 37 years of service.
Visitation will be from
4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, 2021, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. Due to state regulations, there will be a limited number of people permitted in the funeral home at one time. Masks will be required and social distancing will be observed.
Private burial will be at Boalsburg Cemetery.
