Tyler Todd Chesney

April 17, 1991 - Nov. 17, 2020

Tyler Todd Chesney, 29, Bakers Summit, currently residing in Ocean City, Md., passed away peacefully Tuesday at his residence. He was born in Altoona, the son of Richard T. and Chris (Clark) Chesney.

He is survived by his parents of Bakers Summit; three sisters: Miranda Delozier and husband, Robert, of Williamsburg, Lynna Chesney and husband, Josh Reffner, of Duncansville, and Sierra Chesney and fiance, Alex Diehl, of Bakers Summit; three nieces and a nephew: Brianna and Gemma Delozier and Jaela and Jaxon Reffner; great-grandmother, Leonore Claar of Duncansville; grandparents: Vera Weaver of Everett, Linda Clark of Bakers Summit, and Charles and Linda Chesney of Martinsburg; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends who were considered family, especially Tyler’s second family at the Purple Moose and Riptide in Ocean City, Md.

He was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Roy Clark and George Weaver; his great-grandfather, Robert Claar; and two uncles, Rick and Rodney Walker.

Tyler was a 2009 graduate of Northern Bedford County High School and also graduated with a degree in communications and a minor in writing from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. Tyler was an accomplished athlete at both the high school and collegiate levels. He had earned a combined nine district titles in high school wrestling, soccer, baseball and football. He also earned many individual achievement awards.

Tyler was employed as a bartender at the Purple Moose and Riptide Pool/Bar in Ocean City, Md., for over 10 years. He also worked several winters bartending in Pittsburgh.

He enjoyed video games, bar tending, traveling, golfing, riding his scooter and skateboard, spending time at the beach and hunting. You could always catch Tyler with his family and friends cracking a joke or making people laugh with his infectious smile.

Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020; and from 1 until the 2 p.m. funeral service Monday, Nov. 23, 2020, at the Community Grace Brethren Church, 1216 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537. Pastor Jeff Peeler will be officiating. Interment will be made in Holsinger Cemetery, Bakers Summit.

Contributions in Tyler’s memory may be given to his family to be disbursed to his favorite charities.
