Ronald J. Halloran

Ronald J. Halloran, 73, Altoona, passed away Sunday morning at UPMC Altoona following an extended illness.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Robert A. and Mary Ellen (DeFiore) Halloran.
He married Janet Hoffman on June 24, 2020, in Altoona.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; three sons: Donovan of Altoona, Christopher of Philadelphia and James of Washington; a grandson, Shawn; a stepdaughter, Dawn Long (Michael Smith) of Altoona; and two stepgrandchildren: Jaylyn and Mason.
Ronald was a 1966 graduate of Altoona Area High School and had attended Penn State University. He was a U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force veteran, serving from 1965-71. He was a patrolman with Logan Township Police Department from April 1972 until his retirement in April 2003.
Ronald was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Juniata V.F.W., Bavarian Aid Society, Cesare Battisti Club and the Dry Hollow Hunting Club.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to
8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2020 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave, Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fr. Ronald Osinski officiating.
Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Ronald’s memory be made to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602.
