Helen L. Decker, 101, McKee, died Wednesday evening at the home of her son in Brookes Mills. She was born in McKee, the daughter of the late Samuel and Edith (Caswell) Wilt. She married Chalmer R. Decker on March 7, 1939, and he died Nov. 11, 2001.

She is survived by her son, Donald E. “Gene” Decker and wife, Jeanie, of Brookes Mills; three granddaughters: Cheryl Moyer and husband, Randy, of Puzzletown, Sharon “Sis” Decker of Brookes Mills and Janet Hartman (Randy Bartlett) of Duncansville; two great-grandchildren: Sarah and Samuel Moyer; a sister, Erdene Hoover of Roaring Spring; a brother, Russ Wilt of McKee; and three special friends whom she considered family, Larry Grace of Newry, Patty Brouse of Huntingdon and Scott Claar of Puzzletown.

She was preceded in death by three brothers: Samuel “Pete” Wilt, Gerald “Bud” Wilt and Donald “Sonny” Wilt; and three sisters Kathleen Wentz, Jean Downing and Ethel Taylor.

The family extends a special thanks to Kindred Hospice workers: Denise, Stacy, Erin, Tim and Lorraine.

Helen was a member of McKee United Methodist Church. She was a 1936 graduate of Roaring Spring High School and had been employed at the Pennsylvania Department of Highways and Gwin Engineering. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, bingo and word search puzzles.

Friends will be received from 2 until the 3 p.m. funeral service Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020, at Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring, with Pastors Charles Baughman and Tim Guyer officiating. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery.
