Jerry M. McKeehen

Jerry M. McKeehen, 84, Altoona, died Friday at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Berwinsdale, son of the late Don and Olive (McGarvey) McKeehen.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, the former Jane Samuels, whom he married July 6, 1956, in Winchester, Va.; four children: Vicky (Ron) Davis of Altoona, Donald (Sharon Clark) of Bellwood, Rick (Debbie Metzgar) of Tyrone and Lisa (Corey) Elden of Altoona; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; four siblings: John (Peggy Hawkins) of Carlisle, Sara Jane (Larry) Kramer of Martinsburg, Lois (Ed) Sell of Roaring Spring and Norma Jean Manuel of Dagsboro, Del.; a sister-in-law, Jane (Anderson) McKeehen of Cherry Tree; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Don “Mike” and Harry Dean; and a sister, Mary McKeehen.
He retired from Proctor Silex in 1988 with 20 years of service and he also worked at Gulish Garden Center, Pinecroft. He was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, Altoona.
Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family, especially during the holidays, gardening and going to the farm in Berwinsdale.
Due to the pandemic situation, the viewing and service will be private with Pastors Sally and Charles Swenson officiating. Committal will be in Utahville Cemetery, Coalport.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to Family Hospice (UPMC) at familyhospicepa.org/make-a-gift/planned-giving.
