Robert P. ‘Bob’ Schraff Sr.

Robert P. “Bob” Schraff Sr., 74, of DeBary, Fla., formerly of Altoona, passed away Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019, after a brief illness.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Theodore P. and Dorothy E. (Folk) Schraff. On Jan. 13, 1968, he married Patricia McDonough.

Surviving are his wife; two sons: Bob Jr. and wife, Mary, of DeBary, Fla., and Michael and wife, Melanie, of Eva, Ala.; a daughter, Lori Pizzino of Daytona Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Theodore Jr. and wife, Becky, of Fullerton, Calif.; two nieces and a nephew, all in California; and several cousins, nieces and nephews in Altoona. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962-66 and also with the National Guard from 1970-73. He was a lifetime member of the VFW in Winter Springs, Fla., and a member of the Florida Time Travelers.

Bob was an old car enthusiast and an avid Steelers fan. He loved to hunt and trout fish, but most importantly, he knew God.

The family will be bringing him home to Altoona, where a celebration of life service will be held at the Catholic War Vets at a later date.
