Joseph Eugene Myers Sr.

Joseph Eugene Myers Sr., 73, Tyrone, died Saturday at his residence, after an accident working on an automobile.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Paul Samuel and Pauline J. (Gray) Myers. On March 21, 1967, he married Linda Mae Goss.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Wendy
McCartney of Brisbin; a son, Joseph E. Myers Jr. of Tyrone; two grandchildren: Sierra (Nicholas) Gold, U.S. Navy, stationed in Virginia, and Zachary Robert
McCartney of Tyrone; two great-grandchildren: Brylee Gold and Danny Gold; and a sister, Sharon L. McCaulley of Tyrone.
He was preceded in death by a son, William Myers; two brothers; five sisters; and a brother-in-law, Gary D. McCaulley Sr.
Joseph graduated from Tyrone Area High School in 1963. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He worked as a line operator for Pittsburgh Plate Glass for 40 years.
He attended the Tyrone Alliance Church. He was a member of the VFW Post 4559 and the Hookies Fire Company.
Joseph enjoyed traveling with his family, fishing and hunting and gardening.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019, and from
10 until the 11 a.m. service Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019, at Derman Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone, the Rev. Carl A. Schmidt Sr. officiating. Interment with military honors accorded by the Tyrone Veterans Honor Guard, will be at Blair Memorial Park.
