Shirley O. Nearhoof

Shirley O. Nearhoof, 90, Antis Township, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday morning at Altoona Center for Nursing Care.
She was born in Antis Township, daughter of the late Rev. George Henry and Elma (Gilland) Ross. On April 18, 1948, she married Donald E. Nearhoof at Riggles Gap Bible Church.
Surviving are her husband of 71 years; a son, Daryl L. (Laura) of Antis Township; two daughters: Linda A. (Ken) Myers of Bellwood and Patricia D. (Ken) Hollen of Grove City; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: William and Ronnie; a sister, Marilyn French; and a great-grandson, Jakob Hood.
She was a lifetime member of Riggles Gap Bible Church, where she sang in the choir and was past Sunday school secretary for many years. Shirley enjoyed housework and especially spending time with her family. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home Inc., Bellwood, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019, at Riggles Gap Bible Church. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, Pastor William Ice officiating. Interment will be at Antis Cemetery.
