Max Lampenfeld Jr.

Max Lampenfeld Jr., 80, Walnutport, formerly of Hummelstown, passed away at his home on Monday, Aug. 12, 2019.

He was born in Pittsburgh, son of the late Max Sr. and Augusta (Prom) Lampenfeld. He was the husband of Ruth J. (Jones) Lampenfeld, with whom he shared more than 20 loving years of marriage.

Max was a graduate of Patton Joint High School, class of 1956, and later attended Penn State University. He honorably served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. For more than 20 years, Max was an owner and partner in Tri-Star Inc., an instrumentation and control repair firm located in Middletown, prior to retiring.

He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Harrisburg, and also a member of numerous Christian organizations throughout his lifetime.

In addition to his loving wife, Ruth, surviving are a son, Willie Lampenfeld of Hummelstown; a daughter, Sally Jett and husband, Jason, in Texas; three stepsons: Russell Green and wife, Andrea, of Hershey, John Green and wife, Margaret, in North Carolina, and Stephen Green and wife, Ashley, in South Carolina; a stepdaughter, Julie Eder of Allentown; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Etta Albright and husband, Patrick, of Cresson, and Jayne Chirdon and husband, Harold, of Ashville; and nieces and nephews.

Max was predeceased by his first wife, Laura Louise (Spradlin) Lampenfeld, in 1996; as well as his three brothers: Raymond H., Terry P. and Richard J. Lampenfeld; and a sister, Maxine Trudy Lechene.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2019, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Arrangements are by George S. Bensing Funeral Home Inc., Village of Moorestown-Bath.
