Marlene A. ‘Gram Fube’ Fubio

Marlene A. “Gram Fube” Fubio, 82, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Altoona, passed away Tuesday evening at UPMC Altoona.

She was born in Beaver Falls, daughter of the late Alfonso and Anna (Sladavic) DeBona. On Nov. 17, 1956, she married Anthony J. Fubio in Beaver Falls.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Tony (Regina) Fubio of Anderson, S.C.; three daughters: Terri (Gary) Shontz of James Creek, Lisa (Douglas) Shover of Claysburg and Mary (Doug) Reffner of Duncansville; 11 grandchildren: Adam, Jessica, Mark, Lauren, Rachel, Mathew, Brady, Elijah, Ryan, Shane and Kaycie; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Janet Frishman of Duncansville; a brother-in-law, Edward Stedina; a nephew; and two nieces.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert DeBona; and a sister, Regina Stedina.

Marlene was a 1954 graduate of Beaver Falls High School. She retired from Blair Medical Associates after nearly 20 years of service.

Marlene was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. She enjoyed working on puzzle books and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

There will be no public visitation. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2019, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Father Brian Saylor officiating. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are by The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona.
