Terry L. Miller
June 10, 1950 – April 29, 2019
Terry L. Miller, 68, Tyrone, died Monday at his home surrounded by his family.
He was the son of Eleanor M. (Diehl) Miller and the late Marion D. “Bama” Miller. On July 7, 1973, he married Sandra L. “Soni” Albright in Tyrone.
In addition to his wife and mother, surviving are a daughter, Melissa (Ben) Gehlman; two sons: Joe and Benjamin Miller; three grandchildren: Elaina, Corey and Maura; a brother, Charles (Shirley) Miller; and several cousins and aunts; an uncle; and numerous in-laws, whom he loved.
Terry was a 1968 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War. After his time of service to his country, he became a Pennsylvania State trooper, working out of the Rockview Barracks in Centre Country until his retirement in 2005.
He was a member of the Tyrone Church of the Brethren, where he served on the board and volunteered his time. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, the Howard-Gardner Tyrone American Legion Post No. 281 and the NRA.
Terry enjoyed working on cars, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, May 3, 2019, at Tyrone Church of the Brethren. A memorial service with military honors will be held at noon Friday at the church, Pastor Ben Henshaw officiating. Arrangements are by Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone.
