Benjamin S. Forshey Sr.

Benjamin S. Forshey Sr., 86, Altoona, passed away Tuesday morning at UPMC Altoona after an extended illness.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Harry S. and Anna (Wood) Forshey. On Nov. 3, 1954, he married Delores A. Sinisi in Altoona, and she preceded him in death on March 24, 2001.

Surviving are a daughter, Deborah (Leon) Woomer of Altoona; two sons: Benjamin S. Jr. (Lori) of Altoona and Glenn (Becky) Forshey of Hollidaysburg; a grandson, Benjamin W. Forshey; two great-grandchildren; two sisters: Janey and Dolly; and two brothers: Harry and Arthur.

He was preceded in death by three sisters: Shirley, Mary and Margaret; and a brother, Paul.

Benjamin was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1951-54. For 32 years, he was employed as a machinist at Boyer Candies.

He enjoyed watching professional wrestling, doing woodworking projects, and he loved animals.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service today,

Dec. 6, 2018, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park, Pastor John Collins officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Blair County Veterans Honor Guard. Interment will be in Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
